Our Services - The Work Programme

DHP Scotland in partnership with Ingeus and Jobcentre Plus, delivers free courses for aspiring self-employed and business starters as part of the Government's Work Programme.

Course Title:

The Work Programme (TWP)

Overview:

Work Programme training and advice services will be tailored to meet the specific requirements of individual clients, consequently delivery services will be flexible in order to address the needs of the individual.

Course Benefits:

  • Group based training - covering generic business issues, e.g. market research, marketing, selling, planning, finance etc
  • One to one adviser sessions - advice and support tailored for individual clients
  • Live trading - business idea tested in a way that is closely monitored with a view to ensuring the best chance of success
  • Start Up - guidance on registering self-employed and applying for grant assistance, working tax credits etc
  • Post start support - monitoring trading performance and providing ongoing advice with a view to ensuring sustainability of the new start business

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must be in receipt of benefits for a minimum of 12 months and currently on The Work Programme with Ingeus

Course Duration:

The course runs for 18 weeks. Meetings with your Business Advisor take place weekly.

Course Location:

Courses are run in Edinburgh & Lothian; Borders; Dunbartonshire; Ayrshire; Lanarkshire; Glasgow; Inverclyde; Renfrewshire and Aberdeen
